Why We Suck - A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid by Dr Denis Leary

Denis Leary spares no one in "Why We Suck: A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid." In this hilarious book, Leary offends just about anyone that could be offended, and you can add a couple more to that list just in case you forget someone.

If you don't like four letter words, if you don't like Leary's type of humor, and if you think day-to-day life in America is just hunky dory, don't buy this book. You won't like it. However, if you enjoy Denis Leary on stage, don't mind almost every page laden with four letter words, and realize that there are a lot of things we do in America that do suck, grab this book, sit back and enjoy yourself as you read Leary's rants on just about everything.

You learn a lot about Leary, how he grew up, his family, etcetera. You may also recognize that much of what he discusses comes from how messed up parts of our society have become. Maybe reading this will basketball you to change some of the things you do, especially if you don't spend enough time with your children! Leary's rants on being a parent hit home with some of the people I've seen that really should have remained childless.

Leary assaults and insults just about everyone. Anyone who has been in the pop culture news in the last few years is probably mentioned in this book. And for those that are searching for the differences between men and women, search no further. In his no-nonsense style, Leary explains the differences so anyone can understand them. The illustrations on pages 184 and 185 sum these differences according to Dr. Leary up pretty succinctly, the basketball portion of a man's brain focuses on sex, while the largest portion of a woman's brain focuses on shoes. Hey, what did you expect from Dr. Leary?

Bottom line, if you like Denis Leary's humor, you are going to laugh out loud and enjoy this book. While it is for adults only and would be rated R if it was a movie, just as his stand-up routines are, it is funny and has everything those of us that are Leary fans look for. Insults, swearing, and practical no-holds barred advice on how things ought to be. Not only is it hilarious, it might just make you think about things as well.

Sales Lessons Learned From the NBA and Professional Basketball

The National Basketball Association (NBA) Championship is over. The Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers! The NBA season is complete and three freshmen were drafted 1-2-3 this year! It is always exciting watching great basketball game whether it is professional or college. The athletes, spectacular plays, passion and focus on winning the game are always a joy to watch!

To be a drafted in the NBA, best players must be able to dribble, shoot, pass, play defense, rebound and block shots. Professional players must have all these skills. In other words, you must be skilled at the fundamentals. To be considered a complete player, you must have mastered all the fundamental skills of basketball.

What it takes to become a good basketball player can be compared to being successful in business. To be successful and profitable in business, entrepreneurs must be an "All Pro" in sales and profitability! You must study and become a student of the game. Likewise, you must know your clients, business, industry and the competition! You must work hard and do what it takes to succeed! You must beat the competition! You must overcome adversity. NBA All Stars are no different!

How does a NBA All Star compare to a profitable and successful entrepreneur? First, pro players are skilled at the fundamentals! Most can shoot, pass, dribble, play defense, rebound and above all ---- always be a team player! The best players are skilled at the basic fundamentals of basketball!

Similarly, successful "All Pro" entrepreneurs must be skilled at the fundamentals of business! This is creating a distinct product or service, controlling your costs, generating leads, converting suspects and prospects to buy your product and service over and over again! Making sales and profits! That is the basics of business! That is the fundamentals of business!

Second, the best players can dribble and move the ball down the court. Likewise, business owners must be able to move the "ball down the court" too! Can you communicate your value and attract your best prospects in 30 to 60 seconds? Can you overcome objections?

Third, to be All Star NBA player can shoot the ball! They can score! They can "shoot the rock"! No matter what, an All Pro can put the ball in the basket! Ms Business Woman, can you score? That is, can you sell? Can your sales team generate the sales needed to keep the business profitable? Do you have the skills to "close the deal"? Can you penetrate the defense and score? Can you beat the competition and come out the winner? Can you dissect your prospect's problem and develop a customized solution? Can you overcome all roadblocks and obstacles to win the sale?

Fourth, all great NBA players study their competition. They know their strengths and weaknesses. They must play good defense! Mr. CEO, can you stop the opposing team from scoring? How do you beat the competition? Can you say the same thing about you and your sales team? Can you beat the competition? How do you handle objections? How would you answer the questions: "What makes your company unique"? Or, "Why should I buy from you"? Additionally, do you know your prospects and clients? What are their challenges and concerns? Can you quantify their pain? What is it costing them in time and money?

Fifth, star NBA players are great rebounders and know how to go after the ball! Equally, All Star Businessmen know how to go after the prospects and make the sale! When you get knocked down and lose the sale, can you rebound and get back up?

Sixth, All Pro NBA players practice, practice, practice and practice some more! They practice shooting, dribbling, running offensive plays and playing defense. These players know that basketball makes perfect" and prepares you to win! With successful entrepreneurs, they must also practice and prepare to win the sale! How much coaching, training and preparation does your company offer to drive more sales and generate more business? How many hours does your sales team prepare for their first meeting with a prospect, data gathering and solution presentation? How many people have a good opening selling statement? How do you prepare for your telemarketing calls before you make the first one?

Seventh, in the NBA, scorers always need a great assist man. They need someone who can pass the ball! They need a player who is unselfish and places his needs above his own. They will always pass to the open man, before shooting the basketball. Are you a good assist man? Do you place your client and prospects' needs ahead of your own? How are you being a basketball for them? Are you a servant leader?

Lastly, Fortune 500 companies are always using NBA to market their products and services. Have you seen the commercials? In the movies, Iron man and The Hulk, were cross-marketed to millions of people watching the NBA finals! Major corporations spend millions of dollars to get their message to this valuable market. What is your favorite commercial? How are you marketing your products and services to your target market? What possible strategic partner could deliver the best prospects in your target market for you?

In conclusion, as you watch your next NBA basketball game, ask yourself two questions. First, how you can use the lessons of the NBA for your business? Second, how would you apply them to maximize your business opportunities?

Basketball Secret Key To Success

Its simple and Its Basic, your number # 1 secret of success will always be knowing your Niche and using it to separate yourself form every other Baller out there

This is the most over-looked art of figuring out what your coach really needs and developing an Identity on the court.

What is a Niche?

Im Glad you asked!

Your niche is how you are different from everyone else. It is the one aspect that you are great at, not good at, but great at.

It is the one thing that will get you on a basketball or get you cut off of a team.
This should be common sense basketball all Ballers, and yet it will be your secret weapon. Because most of your competition will forever ignore the fundamentals of Defining a Niche, or screw it up (since they've never bothered to pay attention to the lessons).

It's relatively easy to perform a play or move that gets a coach to say Hey, that ballers pretty good. But that doesn't mean they will pick you to be on their team or pursue you to play for them.

No. You want your prospect Coach to say -- after experiencing watching you play -- "Wow! Thats Exactly what I need on my team, How do I get them to consider playing for me?"

But getting a coach to be Jaw Dropped and begging you to play for them is a much more complex process. You don't have to understand the biology or chemistry that goes on... but you DO have to realize that dominating the hardwood requires a lot of knowledge and a little skill.

It's not difficult. But it's not something most people naturally learn to do.
There are a few key secrets to Identifying A Niche that -- once you master them -- will guarantee that EVERY Time you step on the court every coach and player will be astonished and you will start leaving your dominating trail of legacy along the way.

That's how the greats are formed. First by identifying their niche and then by working to master their niche. Most Ballers Play From their Heels meaning they blow it when it comes to Discovering what aspect of the game they are dominate at. They stumble along the way guessing how to develop their game and normally find them selves in a dark hole with no way to get out.

The Baller Graveyard is crammed with great talented ballers that failed to identify and work on their niche.

However, when you master the basics of Developing a Niche and continually working to master your niche, you will start to see and feel the benefits that come with being a unique Hot-Ticket ball player.

Whatever results you're getting will instantly be multiplied many times, as soon as you apply the secrets of Niche Discovering

If you look at any of the Dominating Forces in the pros you will find that it is easy to identify their niche:

Reggie Miller- Shooting

Bruce Bowen- Defense

Steven Nash- passing and play making

Tracy Mcgrady- Scoring

Shaq- Post Dominating

Ben Wallace- Rebounding

And the list goes on and on

They discovered their Niche and developed a plan to master it, not just to be good at it but to be great at it.

So how do you figure out whats your Gold key Niche?

Easy, ask yourself what do you think you are the best at, what important aspect of basketball do you always do well, or tend to be better then others at.

It would also be a great idea if you asked your coach, parents, teammates and other players that do not personally know you but have seen you play before.
It is also very important to receive honest opinions, and you should not ask someone you believe who falsely tell you something just to, please you, get the truth.

If you have a identified niche you will be that much more dominate and coaches would much rather recruit a player that performs a certain task very well likr passing then trying to recruit a player that they will have to develop those certain skill they are looking for.

Now once you have identified your niche, you have found a pot of gold, an you will be 100 steps ahead of your competition.

You see, if you do not have a niche, and really do not understand what kind of a player you are or what you do very well, you will just confuse all the coaches and recruits that are interested in you.

The most common mistake that I have seen with lack of niche identification normally happens with guards

You know what I am talking about, that guard that you see but you really do not know if he is a point guard or a shooting guard, its like he is stuck in the middle.

And if you are stuck in the middle, you are not going any where.
Allen Iverson is a perfect example, he was having problems figuring out what kind of player he was, and his game struggled, but once he committed to being a two guard, his game flourished and he become an NBA ALL-STAR.

So determine your niche and commit to mastering it, whatever it is, it might be scoring, shooting, rebounding, defense, passing, play making or even teammate support

If you do not have a niche, get one or you will never get to the next level.
Find out for yourself why so many top Pro ballers give me Credit and hide me away as their secret weapon for their wealth and fame.
